What's Near The Esplanade Scarborough
Beach.
The Esplanade is Scarborough's most westerly road which is about
2 km long from Manning Road in the north to Lion's Grove in the
south. A cycle path / footpath and soon to be constructed boardwalk
run along the western side of The Esplanade while on the eastern
side are many fine apartment hotels, bed &
breakfast accommodation places, cafes and
restaurants and business offices. The Esplanade is Perth's popular place to watch
and
photograph spectacular sunsets, for lovers to park and pash, occasional stupid
hoons to do burn outs, fresh sea air diners to enjoy al fresco
dining at it's best, skaters and cyclers and for voyeurs to watch
beautiful people go by.
Like Muscle Beach it is the in place to watch the watchers. In the
photo above is the
Scarborough
Beach Surf Life Saving Club and next to it is the
new Scarborough Beach amphitheatre.

At the moment there is plenty of free public car parking on The
Esplanade except for the hottest summer days when all of Perth seems
to want to come to Scarborough Beach. There is a trend for the
City of Stirling to reduce The Esplanade car parking bays and also
take money in leu of by-laws for car bay to number of apartments
ratio. Most condominiums and hotel accommodation along The Esplanade
have secure parking for each apartment but with future
property developments this may not be the case meaning visitors
to apartments will use public bays.
